About

The Manhattan Montana Library Foundation (MMLF) was founded in the summer of 2025 to help fund the Manhattan Community Library in Manhattan, MT.

What we do:

We are the non-profit funding conduit for our community library.

  • All donations for the library’s programming, staffing, and facility needs can now be made tax-deductible by donating through MMLF.

  • Donors can choose for donations to be made to our General Fund, or restricted to specific needs specified by the Manhattan Community Library’s Director.

  • Our General Fund is utilized for the benefit of the Manhattan Community Library.

We do not dictate how the library is managed, its programming, its staffing, or the content of materials or programming provided by the library.
We just help fund the library.

Refer to our bylaws (further down the page) to see the limitations we have placed on ourselves to ensure this.

Current Library Needs:

  • Increase Adult Programming Budget

  • Family STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) Kits

  • Book Kits

  • Maker Space Materials

Long-term Library Needs:

  • Increased material purchases for future expansion into a new and larger space

  • Increased Staffing Hours Needed

  • Facility Improvement Funding

Your library needs your support, TODAY!

  • The library just experienced a significant budget cut for the 2025-2026 budget year.

  • Additionally, several federal funding programs our library relies on were cut in 2025. This will start negatively effecting our library’s budget for multiple programs and general funding over the next few years.

  • Currently, the Manhattan Community Library is one of the few places in town that families and seniors can utilize for free. Many working families use the library to supplement childcare needs during the summer, afternoons year-round, and on school-free Fridays during the school year.

Your support for the library will make a real difference for your community.
